Rosebud Art Studio is at International Elementary School (IES) for the Second Year! 

We’re excited to join hands again with International Elementary School in running the after-school art programs at the IES campus for the school year 2026 –27! Our After school art programs for the students of IES for the 2026 – 2027 school year are,  Around the World in Crafts, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays – Program Louise Bourgeois, on Thursdays – Program Yayoi Kusama, and on Fridays – Program Henri Matisse. Students will explore two-dimensional and three-dimensional media using drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture materials and tools. 

The new studio program at IES, Program Around the World in Crafts, on Tuesdays, introduces students to the rich and diverse world of traditional art, craft, and sculpture from cultures across Africa, Asia, the Americas, the Middle East, and Europe. Each session has a short presentation introducing the cultural context, a live demonstration by the teaching artist, and a hands-on art activity inspired by that tradition. This program nurtures global awareness, cultural appreciation, and a deep understanding of how art functions across different societies and histories. Students will discover that art is a universal human language, one that takes different forms around the world. Batik Fabric Design (Indonesia), Huichol Yarn Painting (Mexico) , Native American Beadwork, Shibori Textile Dyeing (Japan), Warli Painting (India), Persian Tile Design (Iran), Kente Cloth Weaving (Ghana), West African Adinkra Printmaking (Ghana), African Mask Making.

After-School Programs on Wednesdays are from 1.30 PM to 5/6.00 PM. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays classes begin at 3.45 PM and conclude at 6.00 PM. Students can choose to attend the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday program according to their preference. A one-year commitment is required for the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday programs. A 6 month payment plan is available for all the three programs. An extended payment plan could be made available upon request. Rolling admissions are offered all through the school year. After-school Programs for the Wednesday sessions start on September 16, 2026 and conclude on June 16, 2027. After-school Programs for the Thursday sessions start on September 17, 2026 and conclude on June 17, 2027. The after-school programs for the Friday sessions starts on September 18, 2026 and ends on June 11, 2027.

1. Step One: Fill out Brooklyn Prospect’s Free and Reduced Lunch form. This is needed regardless of your income level or interest in receiving a scholarship.
